I am pleased to provide this letter of appreciation in support of the institutional evaluation of the National Book Chamber of the Republic of Moldova and the professional evaluation of its Director General, Ms Renata Cozonac.
The ISSN International Centre and the National Book Chamber of the Republic of Moldova have maintained a close and productive cooperation for more than twenty years. Our formal cooperation dates back to 26 May 2005, when the first working agreement between our two institutions was signed, and has developed continuously since then.
As the institution responsible for the ISSN National Centre for Moldova, the National Book Chamber plays an important role in the identification, registration and international visibility of Moldovan serial publications and continuing resources. Through its sustained contribution to the ISSN Register, it ensures that publications issued in Moldova are represented in the international bibliographic infrastructure managed by the ISSN Network and can be reliably identified and discovered by libraries, researchers, publishers and information services worldwide.
The National Book Chamber has also been an active member of our international community. Its participation in the activities and professional exchanges of the ISSN Network contributes both to the implementation of the ISSN standard in Moldova and to the collective work undertaken by the Network to respond to developments in scholarly communication, digital publishing and bibliographic identification.
I would particularly like to acknowledge the contribution of Ms Renata Cozonac. Over the years, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to cooperation with the ISSN International Centre and to the activities of the ISSN Network. Her involvement in our professional community, including her regular participation in meetings of ISSN National Centre Directors, has contributed to maintaining a constructive dialogue between the Moldovan National Centre and its international partners.
Ms Cozonac has also played an important role in ensuring the continuity and development of ISSN activities in Moldova and in promoting internationally recognised bibliographic standards within her institution and professional community. We greatly value her professionalism, responsiveness and commitment to international cooperation.
The ISSN International Centre therefore wishes to express its appreciation for the work accomplished by the National Book Chamber of the Republic of Moldova and for Ms Cozonac’s personal contribution to the ISSN system. We look forward to continuing this long-standing and fruitful cooperation in the years ahead.
